"Humble yourself the more, the greater you are" (Sir 3:18).
After the angel who had announced the divine conception to her left and went back to heaven, "Mary set out and traveled the hill country" (Lk 1: 39). Carrying God with her in her womb, she went to the house of God's servants and asked to speak with them.
Upon Mary's arrival, Elizabeth, having heard the salutation of the Mother of God, began at once to prophesize on her account, and testified about the coming of the Lord's Mother by saying:
" Most blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb" (Lk 1: 42)
She added that upon hearing her voice, the child, filled with the Holy Spirit, had leaped for joy in her womb (Lk 1: 44).
And yet Mary, though she heard these things, did not become presumptuous. She didn't exalt herself through a movement of vain glory, but with an attitude of profound humility and with all her soul, she gave thanks to God.
