The New Testament insists on constancy in prayer in an ongoing way. There is a time for everything, certainly, but the attitude of the heart, whatever may be the varied events of life, must always be that of the prayer... In other words, we are called by God Himself, to place each moment of our lives before His gaze.
Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to hold your ground before the Son of Man.
(Luke 21:36)
In all your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for God's holy people, and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth...
(Ephesians 6:18)
Always be joyful; pray constantly; and for all things give thanks; this is the will of God for you in Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
