Les Rédemptoristes

Fondée par saint Alphonse de Liguori en 1732, la congrégation des Rédemptoristes a pour finalité l'évangélisation des plus défavorisés. Elle s'étend aujourd'hui dans le monde entier. Saint Alphonse est aussi un Docteur de l'Eglise. On lui doit l'un des plus grands chefs d'oeuvres apologétiques en l'honneur de la Vierge Marie : "Les gloires de Marie", qui recense la pensée des Pères de l'Eglise à propos de la Mère de Dieu.

The Redemptorists were founded by Saint Alphonsus Maria Liguori, on the 9th of November 1732, in Italy. The purpose of the Redemptorists (Congregation of the Holy Redeemer) being the evangelization of the neglected country people in the neighborhood of Naples. Today this missionary society extends into the entire world.

Saint Alphonsus is also a Doctor of the Church. He is the author of masterpiece of apologetic literature in honor of the Blessed Virgin, Glories of Mary (1750), which reflects the thoughts of the Fathers of the Church in connection to the Mother of God.
